Recently, The St Johns Handyman undertook a vibrant Accent Wall Installation project for a client named Jon, whose home is located in the newly developed area of Trailmark in St. Augustine, near the World, Golf Village. Having previously installed light fixtures in his home, we were more than ready to take on this new challenge.
We began by discussing the details and choosing a striking shade for the wall. Once all the wall plates, baseboards, and trims around the cabinets were removed, we got to work on the shiplap accent wall. Our process involved starting at the bottom and conscientiously working our way up to ensure a seamless fit around the countertop and cabinets. We also fitted the shiplap boards into the crown molding for a perfect, clean fit.
After the shiplap installation, it was time to add color. The client had chosen Sherwin-Williams Gale Force, a color that harmonized perfectly with other accent areas within the house. This professionally applied paint job truly elevated the entire project. Finally, once the switch covers were put back into place, we received the client’s approval.
